It took place last Monday 3 April to Udine the lead "Under his beard. From the street to the house: a possible way of homeless people ". An evening of deepening, organized by Caritas Udine and l’Opera Diocesana Betania, in which - starting from the reading of three stories of life and from photographs taken “on the field” by operators of Caritas of Udine -, It was told the area in an unusual key. What emerges, beyond the stereotypes, was the Udine who lives on the street and who is committed to building a community network that gives response to homelessness issues.
In addition to the team of the Caritas of Udine and the Opera Diocesan Bethany, They have succeeded interventions Anna Zenarolla e Paolo Molinari, sociologists and members of the Scientific Committee Network Housing First Italia. it was they who provide the theoretical framework necessary to understand the approach "Housing First" (direct passage 'from the street to the house "), questioning several pillars in the fight against serious marginality, starting from the principle
that the house is a primary human right.
An initiative organized in continuity with the diocesan commitment to keep the spotlight on the situation of the homeless marginality, following, indeed, a few weeks the national campaign #homelesszero

) organizing, Monday 13 March, free screening of the film "Invisible," which saw a large participation of the public at the Cinema Visionary of Udine.
Important to remember, Once again, which for years Caritas of Udine and the Opera Diocesan Bethany foster care services and assistance to homeless people. This commitment takes the form of projects such as the contact team (born of a collaboration of the private organizations and the public involved in the field of extremely marginalized), and facilities such as the canteen "Grace di Diu"
Via Ronchi to Udine, night-seekers "The Fogolar"
and the various community «Betania»
, where people in situation of marginality, accompanied by social workers and volunteers, They can recover the conditions to return to wellness. These realities are united by the attention not only to material goods, but also to relationships, fundamental for a successful development of social exclusion paths, and the ongoing collaboration with local communities, civil and ecclesial, in the consolidation of stable networks of support and solidarity, that look beyond the emergency contingent logic. I'm 137 those being received from within the Fogolar 2016, and more than 99.000 cooked meals from the cafeteria "La Gracie Diu" in the same time frame.
